    Pick up your kit locally in northeast Indiana, or we'll ship it anywhere in the US, arriving about a week before your wedding, so it's yours for the whole wedding weekend, from the rehearsal dinner to the send-off brunch. Inside: one or two charged Sony 4K Handycams, each with 2 batteries, a charger, a light and tips & tricks cards. Open it and you're ready to roll.

Film Unscripted is a do-it-yourself wedding film service run by Cody Meyers. Based in northeast Indiana, out of Avilla.

We ship you one or two Sony 4K camcorders before the big day. You and your people film it your way, with no shot list and no posing. Once the cameras are back, our editing team edits everything into a film you'll actually want to rewatch.

The moments couples love most usually aren't the planned ones. They're the laughing, in-the-crowd clips somebody happened to catch. Film Unscripted puts the camera in those hands, and then a pro edits it.

Good questions.

Do my guests need to know anything about cameras?

No. The Handycam has one big record button, and the cards in the box cover the basics in about thirty seconds, plus a few prompts for moments worth catching.

One camera or two?

One camera, passed around, covers most days. Choose two if you have a big guest list, a large venue, or want both sides of the aisle covered at the same time.

How does the QR guest upload work?

We make a custom QR code for your wedding weekend. Guests scan it with their phone camera and upload clips straight into a shared cloud folder (Dropbox or Google Drive) all weekend long. When the weekend wraps, we edit it all into your film. It's $449 on its own, or $249 added to either kit. Guests don't need an app, just their phone camera.

Is this instead of a videographer?

It can be, or it can sit alongside one. A pro crew gets the polished, planned shots. Film Unscripted gets the view from inside the crowd. If you'd rather have a professional crew film the day, see our wedding videographer option.

When does the kit arrive, and when do I send it back?

Shipped kits arrive about a week before your wedding, and local couples can pick up their kit in northeast Indiana up to 3 days before. Either way, the kit is yours for the whole wedding weekend, from the rehearsal dinner to the send-off brunch. Once the weekend wraps, return it within 3 days: shipped kits go back with the prepaid UPS return label in the box (for a Saturday wedding, drop it at UPS by Wednesday). Need longer? Extra days booked ahead are $25/day. Late returns carry a $25/day late fee.

How do I book?

Pick your package and date in the booking form. The calendar only shows dates that are still open. Then pay in full through our secure Square checkout. We hold your date for 30 minutes while you pay, and it's booked the moment payment goes through. You'll get a confirmation email with all the details right away.

What if I need to cancel or change my date?
  • Cancel 75+ days before your wedding: full refund minus a $100 booking fee.
  • Cancel 30–74 days before: 50% refund.
  • Under 30 days, or once your kit ships or is picked up: no refund.
  • You can move your date once, free, up to 90 days before your wedding. It's subject to availability, and you can do it yourself from the “Need to change your date?” link in your confirmation email.
  • QR-only Guest Footage Film: full refund minus $50 until 14 days before the wedding.
  • If your kit malfunctions or doesn't arrive in time through no fault of yours, you get a full refund.
How long until I get my film?

Fast. Once your cameras are back with us, the full film is delivered in 4–6 weeks. Most wedding films take months.

Do I get all of the raw footage?

Yes. Every kit comes with all of your raw clips, neatly organized into subfolders so you can find any moment fast.

What if a camera gets lost or broken?

Treat the cameras like they're yours. If a camera is broken during your rental, you agree to pay the full price of the camera.

Is it just for weddings?

Weddings are where we started, but the kit works for any gathering: birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, showers, graduations, corporate parties and more.

Do you ship, or can I pick it up?

Anywhere in the US. We're based in northeast Indiana (Avilla), so local couples can pick up and drop off their kit, and everyone else gets it shipped. Getting married at Loft 102? Your kit can be waiting for you at the venue.

How should we get your kit to you?

We ship by UPS about 10 days before your wedding, so it arrives about a week early, with a prepaid UPS return label in the box.

Local drop-off is available in northeast Indiana only.

Kits can be picked up at Loft 102 in Fort Wayne up to 3 days before your wedding.

Nothing specific in mind? No worries, we'll make it amazing for you.

Cancel 75+ days before your wedding for a full refund minus a $100 booking fee, or 30–74 days out for 50% back. No refunds within 30 days or once your kit ships or is picked up, but every booking gets one free date change. You can move your date once, free, up to 90 days before your wedding.
